In easy to understand language for any skill level, Mark explains from start to finish his entire cover painting process in this tutorial DVD. Mark walks the viewer through his initial concept drawings, photography sessions with his models, rough and finished sketch, and transfer process, all the way through the painting to the final brushstroke, all the while explaining to the viewer how to have fun creating and painting comic book covers of their own. Mark also discusses all the materials that he uses: tracing paper, pencils, erasers, rulers, tape, paper, paint, paint brushes, studio lighting and more importantly, he explains why he uses them. Mark Sparacio has been a professional illustrator for almost 30 years. After studying for three years under the legendary sequential artist Will Eisner and earning his BFA at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan, Mark received his first professional job to do a painting for the movie poster for the United Artist film, The Draughtsman's Contract. This opportunity resulted in a long successful run creating paintings and ad campaigns as a freelance illustrator for major advertising agencies throughout the world. When the market for illustration collapsed, the door opened for Mark to return to the medium that is his first love: comic books. He has painted covers for Billy Tucci's Shi, D.C. Comics Green Lantern, Comics Buyer's Guide and Alter Ego, Marvel Comics Heroes for Hire, as well as covers for the Comics Values Annual from 2007 and 2008, 2009, 2010 and The Overstreet Price Guide for the years 2007 and 2008.
